Sync to Microsoft OneDrive

This document explains how to automatically save Stillio screenshots to your OneDrive account.

⚠ The sync settings can be accessed from https://app.stillio.com/settings/apps. Please note that 3rd party integrations work on a 'best effort' basis and are not guaranteed since we have no end-to-end control over their functionality.

Automatically save screenshots to OneDrive

Stillio can automatically store screenshots in your OneDrive account as soon as the image file is created. This requires connecting your Stillio account with OneDrive. After successful authorization, a "Stillio" folder is created within your OneDrive's "Apps" folder.

Example: When capturing www.example.com in your Stillio account and syncing it to OneDrive, the screenshot will be saved within the following directory structure, incorporating the date and time:

Apps/Stillio/example.com/www-example-com-2024-05-07-10-30.png

If you capture multiple web pages from example.com, they will all be stored within the example.com folder.

To enable OneDrive sync, follow these steps:

F.A.Q.

Can I change the filename and folder where screenshots are saved?

  • Folder: The folder structure is predetermined and cannot be changed. Screenshots are always organized by domain within the "Stillio" folder.
  • Filename: You can customize the first part of the filename by adding or editing the "Title" field in your Webpage Capture settings within Stillio. The timestamp (yyyy-mm-dd-hh-ss) at the end of the filename is automatically generated and cannot be altered.

How can I remove the Stillio app from OneDrive?

You can manage app permissions directly through your Microsoft account settings:

  1. Go to Microsoft account's privacy page. If you have a Microsoft Business account, go to https://myapps.microsoft.com/.
  2. Sign in if prompted.
  3. Navigate to the "Apps and services" section.
  4. Locate "Stillio" in the list of connected apps and choose to revoke its access.

Troubleshooting:

My screenshots aren't being saved to OneDrive. What should I check?

  • Authorization: Ensure you've correctly connected your OneDrive account and granted the necessary permissions to Stillio.
  • Storage Space: Verify that you have enough free storage space in both your OneDrive account and on your local device.
  • Filename Length: Extremely long filenames can sometimes cause issues. Try shortening the "Title" field in your Webpage Capture settings within Stillio.
  • OneDrive Limits: While OneDrive allows for a large number of files, there are limits to how many items can sync efficiently within a single folder. Exceeding these limits might disrupt the sync. Consider organizing frequently captured screenshots into subfolders or adjusting the capture frequency for certain web pages.

For optimum performance, we recommend syncing no more than a total of 300,000 files across your cloud storage. Performance issues can occur if you have more than 300,000 items, even if you are not syncing all items. Reference: Microsoft OneDrive Sync Limits.
